๐ฎ๐ณ๐ฉ๐ช Continuing the series setting the stage, this post highlights key facts about ๐ฏ๐ถ๐น๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ฒ, an essential driver of prosperity for both countries, and how a ๐น๐ผ๐ป๐ด ๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฑ๐๐ฒ ๐ณ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฒ ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ฒ ๐ฎ๐ด๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐ (๐๐ง๐) between India and the EU can further boost bilateral trade between India and Germany. In this post, I focus only on trade in goods, not services. (Link to the legacy documents regarding FTA is in the comments).
๐ฎ๐ณ๐ช๐บ The Prime Minister of India, ๐ ๐ฟ. ๐ก๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฑ๐ฟ๐ฎ ๐ ๐ผ๐ฑ๐ถ, and the President of the European Commission, ๐ ๐ฟ๐. ๐จ๐ฟ๐๐๐น๐ฎ ๐๐ผ๐ป ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐ป, announced on February 28, 2025, that the target is to conclude an FTA between India and the EU by the ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฑ. ๐ค ๐ช๐ต๐ฎ๐ ๐ฑ๐ผ ๐๐ต๐ถ๐ป๐ธ? Why do free trade agreements, despite being high-priority instruments in a globalized world, still take so long to conclude?
